Cloudbridge Reserve awarded Bandera Azul Ecologica for its protection of the environment and conservation of natural resources. Previously Cloudbridge was awarded the coveted blue flag with one star, for 2010 we received three stars. Many thanks to Linda Moskalyk, Jill and John Titan, and Rolando Zuñiga Salazar who assisted Tom throughout the year and especially for their help with the reams of paperwork required for submission.
In addition to Cloudbridge four additional flags were awarded in San Gerardo de Rivas including the community of San Gerardo, the school, Chirripo National Park (MINAE) and Hotel Pelicano, pretty impressive for a community of 300 people.
Michiel and Tijmen our researchers from the Netherlands have completed their study here at Cloudbridge. ( see April blog) Their project report was informative. The two of them have provided us with a greater insight into how we can be most productive in our reforestation efforts. We are already adjusting how we plant based on the results of their work. Great job.
