July has been a great month for us here at Cloudbridge, if a bit rainy : ) We would like to announce that we will be postponing the upcoming tropical dendrology course until later in the year, the dates will be defined soon. Likewise, Cloudbridge will soon begin interviews for the position of reserve director, so if you would like to send in your application please do so ASAP!
As many of you know, for a number of years Cloudbridge has been in collaboration with Dr. Mike Mooring of Point Loma Nazarene University and the administration of Chirripó National Park to monitor the wildlife of the Talamanca mountains with camera traps.

Hi! I’m Alexa, and I come from Chile. I recently finished my bachelor’s degree in biology and conservation and came to Cloudbridge for a two-and-a-half-month research internship to gain more practical experience. What better way to do it than in such an amazing place like this? I’m going to study two oak tree species that have been abundantly used in the reforestation efforts of the reserve and are now being affected by an unknown infection.
My name is Martha Plaehn (she/her) and I am volunteering here at Cloudbridge for two weeks! I am from Asheville, North Carolina where my high school French teacher ignited my love for birds. I came to Cloudbridge with the hopes of seeing lots of beautiful birds and improving my nature journaling skills. I am excited to meet new people and assist with the interesting research happening here!
Hi my name is Patrick Plaehn and I’m from North Carolina, USA. I came to cloudbridge to volunteer and help with the ongoing research projects with the ultimate goal of helping this beautiful part of the world while I explore it.
