Program Blog April 2025

It is such an honor for us at Cloudbridge to be stewards for the amazing wildlife that is present on the reserve.  This picture of a Bocaracá (Bothriechis supraciliaris) was taken by our hospitality coordinator Anthony Garita, of an individual that had been relocated to Cloudbridge two years ago.  Cloudbridge is committed to encouraging more people to appreciate the wonderful biodiversity of tropical forests, and to this end we are delighted to host specialty field courses that allow experts to share their knowledge.  Coming up soon, our upcoming mammals course with José Ramírez has a great turn-out, including various international participants.  Thank you to all who will be participating, we look forward to a productive and exciting course!

As mentioned earlier, the mission of Cloudbridge has always been aligned with environmental education, and we are happy to have a good relationship with various professors from our regional campus of the UNA (National University).  We recently received the students of a natural resources and sustainability course taught by Esteban Montero.  Though it rained very early in the day, it was still a very rewarding activity.

Another way in which Cloudbridge supports environmental education is with our CONUBI program, which consists of eight modules which introduce the students to various concepts of biodiversity, biological corridors, and more.  This year our environmental educator Marylin Rodriguez is implementing the program in the schools of Chimirol and Guadalupe of Rivas, in this image the children have completed a puzzle about forest fires.

As per usual, Cloudbridge program participants have been supporting don Omar Garita with the recycling program of San Gerardo de Rivas.  Though the blue flag on display is from a couple of years ago, this is a current photo, with our current science director, Blanca Cejalvo in the foreground.

Do you know how many waterfalls are on Cloudbridge Nature Reserve?  Our hospitality coordinator Anthony Garita has recently taken some beautiful pictures of the four major waterfalls that we have on the reserve, and we are happy to share some of these pictures with you.  Of course this does not compare with being there in person, so we highly encourage you to come and visit Cloudbridge in person.  We have three lovely casitas, each with an equipped kitchen and stunning views, so please consider coming for a stay!

We are very appreciative of the support that we have received for our fundraising campaign for camera traps, along with the Wildlife Imaging Project.  We invite you to please support us!
